i like some of what you say here. it isn’t helpful to complain about things, talk about people, and all that stuff that ignores and distorts.. but i do have to say i don’t want a compliment from someone if they are doing it to make themselves feel good, to get to heaven (someone once told me she does the same thing but for that reason), or to make someone else feel good. i’m all for treating people with sincere and genuine kindness and respect, and if it is a practice to try and notice positive qualities in others and comment on them, maybe that’s what you are doing and i misunderstood. i, myself, do not want a compliment that will help someone meet their goal for the day. that feels kind of insincere to me. i want one, and give them, because i truly see something or feel something about another and i believe it is better to verbalize those things to people. that’s just me, though…
